No change in Maran's condition

CHENNAI Oct. 21. The President, A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, today spoke to the Union Industries Minister, Murasoli Maran's wife, Mallika Maran, and enquired about the condition of the Minister.

Mr. Maran is undergoing treatment at the intensive care unit of the Apollo Hospitals, Chennai.

A DMK release said the President told Mrs. Maran that he would pray for the Minister's early recovery.

It is learnt that there is no improvement in the condition of Mr. Maran and his treatment is being constantly monitored and reviewed.

No medical bulletin was issued today.

The Defence Minister, George Fernandes, rang up the DMK president, M. Karunanidhi, and enquired about Mr. Maran.

He conveyed his wishes for Mr. Maran's speedy recovery.
