Hawk sale only 'mentioned in passing'

NEW DELHI OCT. 21. Contrary to reports from London that the British Prime Minister, Tony Blair, used a recent meeting with the Prime Minister, Atal Behari Vajpayee, to push through the sale of British Hawk jets, India today said the issue was only ``mentioned in passing'' by Mr. Blair.

``This issue is the subject of discussion at appropriate levels between the two Governments,'' an External Affairs Ministry spokesman said. — PTI
