Letters to the Editor
Sir, This is regarding the report ``U.S. panel for naming India, Pak. as countries of concern''. The Indian media, the Government and the people see the West as their masters. The world has come to a point of giving absolute credibility to the U.S. lists terrorist list, USCIRF list, the Human Rights Watch list, etc. The U.S. has the resources to pinpoint the wrongs committed by others. The list may be accurate but how it is used by the U.S. for leverage on other matters is of concern. India has to release its own credible list. No country is perfect but allowing others to point out our internal problems is to their advantage. The U.S., which preaches democracy and human rights to the rest of the world, supports dictators such as Musharraf. What list should they be on?
C.M. Sundar,
