Sir, The trend of sharing the post of Chief Minister on a rotation basis is nothing but a fraud on the Constitution and is fraught with dangerous consequences. In the next Lok Sabha elections, all the NDA partners may equally claim the PM's post on rotation. For the sake of power sharing, if all political parties indulge in such unscrupulous methods, then there is no necessity for wasting several crores of the public money to conduct elections. Instead, the Election Commission may invite all the political parties and arrange for a "Common Minimum Programme'' of sharing of posts on a rotation basis both in the States and at the Centre. P.V.
