Andhra Pradesh-Hyderabad
By Our Staff Reporter
This will delineate the road curvatures and help decrease accidents during nights. Replying to a question during the weekly "Face to face'' programme here on Wednesday evening, the MCH Commissioner, Chitra Ramachandran, said this device had already been installed on an experimental basis at Punjagutta and Jalagam Vengalarao park at Banjara Hills. There were several complaints about damaged roads, erratic water supply, and garbage dumps. Satyanarayana, a professor of Osmania University, complained about non supply of drinking water to houses in the campus. He said he had represented the problem thrice during the programme but no action had been taken so far. Right from the inception of the University, the staff had not been getting water. There were nearly 600 employees, both teaching and non-teaching, residing in the campus. But they had to purchase water at a heavy cost, Mr. Satyanarayana said. The Hyderabad Metro Water Supply and Sewerage Board official, Ramakrishna, replied that the board had no problem making bulk water supply to the university provided it got money for the same. A caller from Erammanzil, Mohan Raj, had the officials in a spot when he wanted to know why no action was taken against Town Planning officials for glossing over building deviations. He also wanted the authorities to take action against persons who put up places of worship to avoid road widening. The Mayor, T. Krishna Reddy, gave an unsatisfactory reply and merely said everyone should cooperate.
