Anand, who won four games and drew five games to qualify for the last 16 stage in this 20,000 Euro first prize event on Thursday, will play two games to decide on who will advance into the quarterfinals. Meanwhile, the seeds who did not make it to the last 16 from the 122-player qualifier held on Thursday included Rafael Vaganian (Arm), Joel Lautier (Fra), Alexander Onischuk (Ukr) and last year's finalist Alexander Chernin (Hun).
