The Thalasserry Educational District with 1,564 points stood second. In the mathematics fair, the Ottappalam Educational District with 85 points won the over-all championship and Kannur with 83 points stood second. The TRK Higher Secondary School, Ottappalam with 59 points bagged the trophy for the best school and the KBM HSS, Kottarakara with 39 points won the second best school position in the mathematics fair. In the special schools category, the Asha Bhavan High School for the Deaf, Olloor, bagged the over-all championship and the St. Claire Oral School for Deaf, Manikkamangalam, stood second in the science-mathematics-work experience fair. In the on-the-spot competitions, the Ernakulam Educational District with 3,795 points emerged the over-all champions and the Kozhikode Educational District with 3,648 points stood second. The trophies to the winning teams were presented by the Rural Development Minister, C.F. Thomas, at the valedictory function held at the Mar Thoma church hall in Thiruvalla this afternoon. Mammen Mathai, MLA, the Additional DPI, P.T. Valsa, and the Deputy Director of Education, V.N. Somarajan, spoke.
