The unseeded Indian pair lost 2-6, 1-6 to Kyra Nagy of Hungary and Maria Wolfbrandt of Sweden in the final. Sai and Rushmi got a walkover from Ma Alejandra Garcia of Paraguay and Grandos Martinez of Spain in the semifinals. The two, playing together after a break, had beaten the second seed Gabriela Navratilova and Hana Sromova of the Czech Republic 6-3, 6-3 in the quarterfinals, after scoring a 6-4, 6-3 victory over Magy Aziz of Egypt and Ekaterina Bychkova of Russia in the first round. In singles, Rushmi lost 1-6, 3-6 to the seventh seed Barbora Strycova of the Czech Republic in the first round. Sai had to play the singles qualifying event and lost in the second round to Nadejda Vassileva of Bulgaria 2-6, 6-1, 2-6, after beating Franziska Etzel of Germany 5-7, 6-4, 6-3 in the first.
