Kumble joins 300-club

** Jai Prakash Yadav became the 146th player to appear in a LOI match for India.

** Ajit Agarkar playing in his 103rd match, registered his highest ever LOI score of his career. His previous highest was the unbeaten 67 (in 25 balls) against Zimbabwe at Rajkot on 14-12-2000.

** The wicket of Marlon Samuels was the 300th for Anil Kumble in his 234th match. He becomes the only third bowler in LOI history to reach this landmark. Only Pakistanis Wasim Akram (479 in 343 matches) and Waqar Younis (395 in 248) have more wickets than Kumble in LOIs.

** The partnership of 75 runs between Ajit Agarkar & Rahul Dravid was the best for the 4th wicket at this venue bettering the previous best of 73 between Saurav Ganguly and Mohammad Azharuddin against South Africa on 12-3-2000.

** The unbeaten partnership of 47 runs between Rahul Dravid & Mohammad Kaif was the best for the 7th wicket at this venue bettering the previous best of 31 between Pakistanis Azhar Mahmood and Wasim Akram against Sri Lanka on 19-3-1999.

** India's 283-6 (in 50 overs) was its highest at this ground bettering the

265-3 (44 overs) it made against Pakistan on 26-3-1987.

** Wavell Hinds' 93 was his second highest score of his career in 55 matches. His best — unbeaten 116 against Zimbabwe at Kingston on 2-4-2000.

** The partnership of 71 runs between Ramnaresh Sarwan & Shivnaraine Chanderpaul was the best for the 5th wicket at this venue bettering the previous best of 70 between South Africans Hansie Cronje and Nicky Boje against the home side on 12-3-2000.

** Harbhajan Singh's bowling performance of 9-0-68-0 (R/o: 7.56) was his second least economical figures of his career spanning 57 matches. His worst performance came against Australia at Sharjah on 22-4-1998 when he had figures of 8-0-63-1 (R/o 7.88). This match was incidentally Harbhajan's fourth of his career.

** Sarwan's unbeaten 83 was his highest score of his career. Playing in his

20th match, he bettered his previous best of 52 he made against New Zealand at Arnos Vale on 16-6-2002.

** The match aggregate of 568 runs was the highest for any LOI match at this ground. The previous best was 562 runs made by these teams on 7-12-1983.

** The defeat of the last ball was India's fourth such loss in LOIs. The team had previously lost to Pakistan (at Sharjah on 18-4-1986); England (at Jaipur on 18-1-1993) and again to Pakistan (at Brisbane on 10-1-2000) off the last ball of the match. For the West Indies it was its fifth last-ball win in LOIs. It previous closest win against India came at Faridabad on 19-1-1988 with they won with five balls to spare.

** For India this was its fifth loss in seven matches at this ground.

** Sarwan received his maiden man of the match award of his career in his 20th match.
