In a complaint sent to the Commission, the Centre cited an interview given to a newspaper today by Dr. Krishna alleging that the "two men were unarmed and were shot dead by the police'' and requested that an officer of the Investigation Wing of the Commission be deputed for his protection. It also wanted the Commission to direct that the post-mortem of the two "terrorists'' be conducted in full conformity with the Commission's guidelines, to direct the Government not to dispose of the bodies until an adequate autopsy was conducted and to examine all officials of the special branch of the Delhi police to verify their claims in this case. Taking cognisance of "disturbing" media reports, the Commission today issued a notice to the police seeking a report on the incident within a week.
