Karnataka-Bangalore
Even late on Tuesday night, patients were brought to the hospital. One of them was 13-year-old Kantaraj. His mother, Gowramma, told The Hindu that the boy was watching his friends bursting crackers when one of them threw a lighted rocket into the air. It hit Kantraj in the eye. Another patient is 10-year-old Nandish from Chickballapur. His parents, Krishnappa and Venkataratna, did not even know how their son got injured. "He was returning home after visiting a temple when the incident occurred,'' his mother said. Sources in Victoria Hospital said 12 patients with hand, face, and leg injuries suffered while bursting crackers were brought to the hospital. All of them were outpatient cases, they said. Officials of M.S. Ramaiah Hospital said two or three people with hand injuries were treated there.
