Sania continues to win

NEW DELHI NOV. 7. Sania Mirza continued with her fine run and made the quarterfinals of the $10,000 ITF women's tennis tournament in Manila, with a 6-1, 6-4 victory over qualifier Diana Julianto of Indonesia.

The 833rd ranked Sania will take on the 903rd ranked Kim Kilsdonk of the Netherlands, who beat the seventh-seeded Radhika Tulple 4-6, 6-2, 6-3 in another second round encounter.

Radhika had beaten qualifier Eun-Hee Sung of Korea 6-3, 6-1 in the first round. Geeta Manohar lost 3-6, 2-6 to Akgul Amanmuradova of Uzbekistan in the first round.

In doubles, Sania and Radhika made it to the quarterfinals, beating Diana Costa of Portugal and Po-Kuen Lam of Hong Kong 6-4, 7-6 (8-6).

Geeta and Sonal Phadke lost 3-6, 2-6 to Kim Kilsdonk of the Netherlands and Dianne Matias of the U.S. in the first round of the doubles.
