Murder-accused among detained ryots in Israel

By Our Staff Reporter

NIZAMABAD NOV. 7. A former sarpanch and important leader of Kammarpalli mandal, who is the main accused in the murder of a Congress ZPTC member, Chinta Dharmapuri, is said to be part of the 39-member farmers group, which went to Israel last month and landed in trouble with the detention of a couple of them for overstaying. Reliable sources pointed out that some of the victims of the Israel trip, who returned to Nizamabad and narrated the harrowing experience in that country after they were detained by the Israeli police, said that the main accused in the Chinta Dharmapuri murder case had also escaped to Israel. It may be mentioned here that the Congress ZPTC member was kidnapped and subsequently murdered in Metpalli area of Karimnagar district in January. The Adilabad police had arrested a couple of former CPI-ML (Janashakti) group members, who confessed that some political leaders of Kammarpalli had conspired to eliminate Dharmapuri. As per the plans, the victim was abducted and then done to death in Karimnagar district. But, the police recently stumbled upon clues that some important ruling party leaders were involved in the murder. The police, who picked up some former naxalites in connection with extortion, named the leaders and explained how a conspiracy was hatched to do away with Dharmapuri. Based on the confession, the police launched a manhunt for the former sarpanch of Kammarpalli mandal when they first heard of the Israel trip. The former sarpanch, also managed to join the trip and is currently in Israel.
