Gujarat Govt. transfers 21 police officials

Ahmedabad Nov. 9. In a major shake-up in the Police Department, three days before the visit of the Election Commission (EC) officials, the Gujarat Government on Friday transferred 21 police officials of the rank of Deputy Superintendent of Police and Assistant Commissioners of Police.

According to an official release, among others the ACP (crime) Ahmedabad, S.S. Chudasama, who was handling Naroda and Gulbarg society riot cases, has been transferred as DSP in the police headquarters at Gandhinagar.

However, no replacement has been named in Mr. Chudasama's place. P.N. Barot, ACP `B' division, Ahmedabad, will go in the same rank to Baroda, while DSP, H.R. Chaudhary, from SC/ST cell, Godhra, will replace Mr. Barot.

The ACP, J.K. Vachanni, `A' division, Ahmedabad, has been transferred as the ACP, Jambusar in south Gujarat.

The DSP Anti-terrorist Squad, V.M. Rajput, will be the ACP, special branch, Baroda, R.H. Nathani, DSP, Intelligence, Baroda would join in the same rank at Intelligence, Gandhinagar. S.P. Ojha, DSP, CID, Gandhinagar, has been appointed as the ACP `F' division, Ahmedabad.— PTI
