The candidates are: Rajnath Singh and Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi (Bharatiya Janata Party), Amar Singh, Udai Pratap Singh, Abu Ashim and Shahi Siddiqui (Samajwadi Party), Isham Siddiqui, Veer Singh and Gandhi Azad (Bahujan Samaj Party) and Akhilesh Das (Congress). The Delhi-based hotelier, Lalit Suri, who was supported by almost all the political parties, was also declared elected for the lone mid-term vacancy. The election for the lone Legislative Council seat would be held on November 18 in which Munna Singh Chauhan, a candidate of the ruling coalition, would lock horns with the dissident BJP legislators' candidate, Yashwant Singh, Mr. Pandey said.
