Three naxalites killed in encounter

GUNTUR NOV. 12. Three naxalites belonging to the outlawed People's War were killed in an encounter with the police at Chandrajupalem village of Bellamkonda mandal around 6.45 pm on Tuesday.

According to the Superintendent of Police, P.S.R.Anjaneyulu, the police received a tip-off that the naxalites were moving in the forest. Soon, the special party police rushed to the scene. On noticing the police, the naxalites opened fire. When the police returned the fire, three of them died on the spot. The police could notice six to seven naxalites on the scene.

Two victims were identified as Eswar alias Madhav (26) and Gayam Adi Reddy (21). While Eswar is the commander of Central Palnadu Zone Local Guerrilla Squad, Adi Reddy is the Deputy Commander of Bellamkonda dalam. The SP said that efforts were on to identify the third person. The police recovered one 8mm revolver, a few soap bombs and material to be used for claymore mines.
