Electoral roll revision begins

By Our Special Correspondent

Chennai Nov. 14. A three-week special roll revision for including new voters began today at all polling station locations, taluk and corporation zonal offices.

The exercise provides an opportunity for 18-year-olds to join the State electorate and for voters left out of the rolls, to get included.

The draft rolls would be published at the designated centres— polling station locations and taluk and zonal offices- for voters to file their claims and objections.

Special campaigns would be held at the centres on November 16, 17, 23 and 24 to help office-goers to submit their applications. Besides, for issue of electors' photo identity cards, videography would be organised in the taluk and zonal offices from November 22 to December 22.

The Election department supplied sufficient application forms 6, 7 and 8 for inclusion, corrections and deletions of names in the electoral list, the Chief Electoral Officer, Mrutunjay Sarangi said. But, no bulk applications would be accepted, he added.
