Sihanouk awarded 2002 Indira Gandhi Prize

NEW DELHI NOV. 20. The King of Cambodia, Norodom Sihanouk, has been awarded the Indira Gandhi International Award for Peace, Disarmament and Development for the year 2002.

The decision to award the prize to the Cambodian monarch was taken by a jury headed by the former President, K.R. Narayanan, the panel's vice-chairman, Natwar Singh, said today.

The Indira Gandhi Award for 2001 was presented to Sadako Ogata, former United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees.
