7 CRPF jawans killed in Manipur

Imphal Nov. 20. Seven CRPF jawans on patrol duty at the Loktak Hydel project and a self-styled lieutenant of the banned People's Liberation Army were killed in separate encounters in Manipur today.

The jawans were killed in an ambush by the Manipur People's Army, an armed wing of the separatist United National Liberation Front in Bishenpur district.

In another incident, a PLA `Lieutenant' was killed in exchange of fire between the PLA and the police in Kiyame area.
