J&K Minister survives attack

SRINAGAR NOV. 24. The Jammu and Kashmir Minister for Rural Development and senior Congress leader, Peerzada Mohammad Sayeed, escaped unhurt when militants fired at his motorcade in Anantnag district, near Hiller village, last evening. Mr. Sayeed was on way to his Kokernang constituency in South Kashmir. Al-Nasreen, a little-known militant outfit believed to be a shadow group of the Lashkar-e-Taiba, claimed responsibility for the attack. — PTI
