Wipro licenses 802.11 MAC to U.S. firm

BANGALORE: Wipro Technologies has licensed its dual mode 802.11 MAC core Wireless LAN intellectual properties (IP) to the U.S. based Advanced Broadband Communications. 802.11 is an internationally recognised standard for wireless communication in local area networks and Wipro's 802.11 MAC would be integrated into a chip that ABC plans to design and produce.
