MRO-TEK H1 PAT up

CHENNAI NOV. 27. The Bangalore-based MRO-TEK, a leading networking and last mile access solutions provider, has reported a profit after tax of Rs. 2.54 crores in the six months ended September 30, 2002 against Rs. 85.28 lakhs in the corresponding period of the previous year.

Total income was higher at Rs. 36.81 crores against Rs. 28.39 crores.

In the quarter ended September 30, 2002, the company has made a net profit of Rs. 1.35 crores against Rs. 5.79 lakhs. Total income was Rs. 21.23 crores against Rs. 16.25 crores.

In the year ended March 31, 2002, the company made a net profit of Rs. 6.94 crores on a totoal income of Rs. 75.06 crores.

The company has added five new clients during the quarter. Banking and finance, insurance, basic service providers and IteS companies continue to be major contributors to revenues.

Commenting on the performance, S. Narayanan, Chairman and Managing Director, said, "The overall business environment continues to be challenging, however, we are sparing no efforts to explore new opportunities and markets. MRO-TEK continues to scout for opportunities to spur growth. Our joint venture in Malaysia has made tremendous progress and we have been able to get very good enquiries from companies in the Asia Pacific region."

H. Nandi, Managing Director said, "We continue to look for global alliances to bring the best of technology into the country."
