Gambhir, Chopra hit centuries

By Our Special Correspondent

NEW DELHI NOV. 28. For the second successive day, the `new-look' Himachal Pradesh performed precisely in keeping with its past reputation. Despite the presence of some tried and tested additions, the hilly state found itself on a familiar slippery slope against Delhi at the half-way stage of the Ranji Trophy elite group match at the Ferozeshah Kotla ground here on Thursday.

Halted at 244 in its first innings, 67 minutes after resuming the day at 194 for seven, Himachal's woes mounted with every passing session. Delhi's openers Gautam Gambhir and Akash Chopra, after a sedate start, feasted on Himachal's pedestrian attack and some very ordinary fielding to put on 211 runs and completed their centuries as Delhi finished the day at 240 for one.
