Cong., BJP workers clash

By Our Special Correspondent

AHMEDABAD Nov. 30. Workers of the Congress and the BJP clashed in Vijapur town today after the car of the Congress candidate and the former Leader of the Opposition in the Gujarat Assembly, Naresh Raval, was stoned.

A report reaching here said that when Mr. Raval's cavalcade was entering Madhi village for election campaigning, some women threw stones at his car, badly damaging it, though Mr. Raval escaped unhurt.

As the news of the attack spread in Vijapur, irate Congress workers attacked the BJP election office and set it afire.

A few shops and roadside cabins were also set ablaze in the ensuing scuffle.

A BJP spokesman accused the Congress of attacking the party office while disclaiming any responsibility of his party workers in attacking Mr. Raval's car.
