Rajnath injured in road accident

AHMEDABAD DEC. 1. The former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister, Rajnath Singh, was injured in a road accident on the Prantij-Himmatnagar highway in north Gujarat today.

Police said Mr. Singh's car collided head-on with a luxury bus coming from Rajasthan near Salal village in Prantij taluka. The driver was killed on the spot while the Delhi bureau chief of Amar-Ujala newspaper, Virendra Sengar, was critically wounded. Mr. Singh escaped with relatively minor injuries and was being shifted to a hospital. A commando escort also was injured in the accident.
