14 fishermen `abducted' by Sri Lankan Navy

PUDUKKOTTAI DEC. 1. Fourteen fishermen of the Jagadapattinam village were allegedly abducted by the Sri Lankan Navy when they ventured into the high seas off Pudukottai coast.

Many fishermen set sail from Jagadapattinam on Saturday morning. The Sri Lankan Navy personnel surrounded and captured 14 of them, the fishermen who returned to the coast said.

The names of those captured are Kadirvel (24), Ezhumalai (27), Pakkiri (25), Murugan (23), Gundumani (34), Maniamaran (26), Palani Murugan (25), Nallaveeran (30), Madurai Veeran (40), Balamurugan (30), Kesavan (28), Subramanian (40), Bhoopalan (28) and Pitchaimuthu.
