Gujarat
By Our Special Correspondent
Briefing mediapersons here today, the BJP spokesman, V.K. Malhotra, said: ``The Congress is pursuing a double-faced policy supporting minorities on the one hand and the party president, Sonia Gandhi, launching her election campaign from the Ambaji temple on the other. The party is also taking the help of 20 `saints' in its campaign.'' Of the view that the Congress was trying to dupe the electorate by bringing out manifestos promising different things in two languages, Mr. Malhotra questioned the dual stand of the party and demanded that it take a clear position vis-a-vis Gujarat. Stating that the Congress had brought up Godhra in its manifesto, Mr. Malhotra said the BJP manifesto released in Gujarat today made no mention of Godhra. But, the Congress, he said, in one manifesto had stated that it would bring out a White Paper on Godhra and set up special courts to try those guilty of post-Godhra riots. ``If they continue to raise Godhra, we will also have to do so.''
