Letters to the Editor
Sir, The recent developments in Bangladesh vis-a-vis consolidation of Taliban elements is a matter of concern for India. The leadership in Dhaka has shown signs of playing as the "B" team of Pakistan. Nepal has also become a grazing ground for Pakistan's ISI. When the Deuba Government was sacked, a controversial Dawood associate was alleged to have influenced the King to take such a step. A kind of vicious circle seems to be emerging around India from Pakistan to Bangladesh. It is time we took serious note of it. Instead of looking towards others for help we must develop our own diplomatic and military plans and policies. Being mightier than Pakistan, militarily and economically, why can't India turn the tables on it by managing all its resources prudently? Why can't RAW be made as effective as the ISI? Today's wars are those of strategies and not of fighter planes and battle tanks. Kumar Pankaj Delhi
