Dubious charge

Sir,_ One is amused to read about the BJP's "charge" against Sonia Gandhi for going to lecture at the Centre of Islamic Studies, Oxford, which "was receiving funds from dubious sources" (Nov. 29). They have conveniently forgotten that the late Prof. K.A. Nizami, whose name adorned the list of advisors to the RSS mouthpiece Manthan, was a moving spirit behind its establishment and was the father of the present director, Farhan Nizami.

None of this should, however, be deemed to tarnish the reputation of the Oxford Centre.

Iqtidar Alam Khan,

Aligarh
