Mr. Sibal, who will familiarise himself with all elements of bilateral relations and the developments in the Sri Lankan peace process, will meet his counterpart and interact with political personalities in Colombo. According to informed sources, Mr. Sibal had already visited Nepal, Bhutan and Myanmar and his Sri Lanka trip was part of a greater engagement with neighbouring countries. The sources stressed that Mr. Sibal's visit had been planned for some time and was part and parcel of regular consultations between India and Sri Lanka. He is scheduled to return here on Monday.
