Kiran and Satyanarayana on top

KANPUR DEC. 13. The Delhi pair of Mrs. Kiran Nadar and B. Satyanarayana remained at the top with a tally 195 V.P. at the end of fifth round of matches in the All India Sir Padampat Singhania Memorial bridge tournament at the premises of the Kamla Club here today.

The event which will be divided after 21 rounds of matches among the 22 selected pairs from the different parts of the country remained interesting following the changes after five rounds. At the end of fifth round the position was as follows:

1. Kiran Nadar and B. Satyanarayana (Delhi) 195 VP. 2. Ajith Chakradeo and Rajendra Gokhale (Maharashtra) 174. 3. Kamalakara Rao and Indra Pal Singh (Hyd-Delhi) - 165. 4. A.R.D Sequeira and Bhiwandkar (Maharashtra) - 164. 5. Vivek Bhand and Paranjpe (Maharashtra) - 161. 6. M. Mukherjee and R. Roy (Railways) - 157. 7. K.Kumar and P. Gayal (TNBA-Rajasthan) - 155. 8. Defending champion P. Kushori and D. Roy had Paltry 83. However with 16 more rounds to go, the position would be determined later.
