Joshi's call to Sanskrit scholars

PURI DEC. 14. The Union Human Resource Development Minister, Murli Manohar Joshi, today asked Sanskrit scholars to help decipher the ancient manuscripts of the country. More than three crore valuable manuscripts were lying uncared for, he said, addressing a congregation of Sanskrit scholars at the inaugural function of the 41st All-India Oriental Conference here.

Mr. Joshi said Sanskrit scholars should make every effort to study these documents for which the National Manuscripts Mission would provide financial assistance. Mr. Joshi also laid the foundation stone of a Rs 8.5-crore education complex inside the Sadasiv Kendriya Sanskrit Vidyapeeth here.
