To be inaugurated by the Pakistan Federal Minister for Food, Agriculture and Livestock, Sardar Yar Muhammad Rind, all the SAARC members barring Bhutan would attend it. The SAARC members felt the need of establishing a food reserve that could be easily accessed by the member states in case of emergency, drought and other such reasons for immediate relief. The SAARC member states would contribute food stocks for the reserves. The contributions are Bangladesh (40,000), Bhutan (180), India (1,53,200), Maldives (200), Nepal (4,000), Pakistan (40,000) and Sri Lanka (4,000) metric tonnes. The Board will review the implementation of the recommendations of the eighth meeting of the Board held in Kathmandu in April 2001.
