No move to cut Army size

NEW DELHI DEC 17. The Government has reversed plans to reduce the manpower in the Army due to the delicate security situation on the borders as well as within the country. It is averse to disengaging the Army from counter-insurgency duties till the paramilitary forces and the State police forces are competent to fill the void, the Government told a Parliamentary committee.
