Boxing: Two pugilists hospitalised

HYDERABAD Dec. 17. S. A. Korgaonkar of Goa knocked out Tamil Nadu's Thyagarajan in round four of their men's light welter-weight bout in ring No. 3 in the boxing competition at the Fateh Maidan here on Tuesday.

The other knockout came in the women's light weight category, where Uttar Pradesh's Hema Negi collapsed onto the canvas, following which the referee stopped the contest.

Ringside doctors administered first aid, after which she was moved to hospital, where her condition was said to be stable.

Negi's teammate in the men's super heavy section, Bangal Singh, who sustained a head injury, was also taken to hospital, but is reportedly out of danger.
