Breakthrough

By Mahesh Vijapurkar

MUMBAI Dec. 24 .With the detention of three persons, the Mumbai Police tonight claimed to have achieved a breakthrough in two blast cases — aboard a bus in the Ghatkopar suburb and in Mumbai Central on December 2 and 6.

The Mumbai Police Commissioner, M. N. Singh, said tonight that the arrested belonged to a "fundamentalist group''. The group was also responsible for placing a bomb which was discovered before it went off in a bus in another suburb, also in December, Mr. Singh said.
