Linking of rivers

Sir, — Rammanohar Reddy's thought-provoking article on the grand plans to link all major rivers of this country is timely.

If resolving the problems arising out of sharing of waters of one river — Cauvery — between two States is beyond the capabilities of our political establishment today, it passes one's imagination how the innumerable and far more complex issues of coordination and cooperation that will be thrown up among almost all the States consequent to linking of major rivers, will be sorted out on a continuous basis.

K. Balakesari,

Chennai
