Depression intensifies

Pune Dec. 25. The depression that formed over north Indian Ocean and adjoining southwest Bay yesterday, has intensified into a deep depression and lies within half a degree of latitude 7.0 degree north and longitude 83.5 degree east, about 650 km southeast of Kanyakumari.

According to an India Meteorological Department release here today, the system was likely to intensify further and move in northeasterly direction for some more time. The system was not likely to have any effect on the east coast.
