Ultras strike in Guwahati

GUWAHATI DEC. 25. In a daring attack, militants targeted vehicles, killing two persons and wounding 19, including the former Asom Gana Parishad MP, Prabin Sharma, in the heart of the city this evening.

"Militants attacked four vehicles with grenades fired from a rocket-propelled gun in the busy Ambari area," the Kamrup Deputy Commissioner, Afsar Ali Hazaria, said.

The injured were admitted to the Guwahati Medical College Hospital.

The identity of the militants and the motive behind the attack was yet to be ascertained. A massive manhunt has been launched to nab them, Mr. Hazaria said.
