Lorry runs over students; 2 dead

BANGALORE DEC. 26. Two students of APS Rural College of Engineering were killed on the spot and six injured when a stone-laden lorry ran over them in Talaghatapura Police Station limits in Bangalore Rural District on Thursday afternoon.

The accident took place at the Somanahalli Gate bus stop on Kanakapura Road when the students were waiting for buses.

Arun Kumar (19), a first semester student, and Parimala (21), a sixth semester student, are the dead. Vijay Kumar, Venkatesh, Subashini, Rohit, and two others, who suffered serious injuries, have been admitted to various private hospitals in the City, police said.

According to the police, while negotiating a BMTC bus coming from Somanahalli village to the City, the lorry ran over the students.

The Talaghatapura Police have taken up a case and seized the lorry. They are on the lookout for its driver.
