Digvijay stretches lead

CHENNAI DEC. 28. With a seven-under 63, Digvijay Singh stretched his lead over his nearest rival by seven strokes on the penultimate day in the Royal Challenge Grand Prix, Chennai at the par-70 Madras Gymkhana Golf Course on Saturday.

Digvijay carded an error-free round, consisting of five birdies and an eagle. Meanwhile, Mukesh Kumar, who returned a five-under 65 is hoping to make it a close finish in the final round.

In the amateur section, Sandeep Syal continued to remain in front. The local golfer carded a creditable two-under, 68 and to enjoy a comfortable ten stroke lead over his nearest competitior, B Gurunath who came up with a level-par, 70, in the third round.
