Govt. failed on all fronts: Janakiraman

By Our Staff Reporter

Pondicherry Dec. 29. Former Chief Minister of Pondicherry and leader of the opposition in the Assembly, R.V. Janakiraman (DMK), today charged that the Congress Government here had done nothing for freedom fighters, school children and the underprivileged.

There were no firm measures to provide jobs for the youth.

Discounting the allegations made on Saturday by the PCC leader, V. Narayanasamy, at the Congress party foundation day function, Mr. Janakiraman said in a statement here that instead of setting his house in order, Mr. Narayanasamy was criticising the DMK.

The problems of freedom fighters were left unattended by the Government.

The breakfast scheme was facing hiccups quite often.

Mr. Janakiraman said the unemployed youth were agitated over the failure of any firm policy to provide them jobs.

Fishermen were not given assistance to purchase mechanised boats.

The old age pension scheme itself was becoming old without implementation, thanks to the lack of initiative on the part of the Government.

The DMK would soon launch an agitation against the failure of the Government, he said.
