`Five-day week being contemplated'

By Our Staff Reporter

KOZHIKODE DEC. 29. The KPCC president, K. Muraleedharan, MP, has said that the Government was contemplating the implementation of a five-day week for its employees. Such a move is unlikely to meet any opposition, he added

Mr.Muraleedharan was speaking after inaugurating the 17th State conference of the Kerala Gazetted Officers Union(KGOU), here today.

On the issue of holding fruitful dialogues with the employee unions, Mr.Muraleedharan confessed that there had been lapses in this regard in the past.

He expressed the view that a more forthright dialogue with the unions relating to periods of agitations by employees was necessary and efforts would be made in this regard in future.

The KGOU State president, E. Moideen Koya, and the general secretary, N. Aravindakshan, participated.
