Kalaivanan clarifies

With reference to the report titled `Speculation over Hyderabad visit' which appeared in these columns, the Chennai Corporation Commissioner, M. Kalaivanan, today clarified that he was neither summoned to meet the Chief Minister, Jayalalithaa, in Hyderabad, nor did he meet her there.

"I went to Hyderabad on my own volition with some officers of the Chennai Corporation to see the greening efforts in Hyderabad, as well as to discuss with my counterpart in Hyderabad the civic improvement works undertaken there," he said.
