Police sources said here today that the arrested persons, residents of Andimadam, allegedly owing allegiance to the Tamil Nadu Liberation Movement led by Suba.Ilavarasan, were identified as P. Ramasamy (42), J. Ravichandran (27) and V. Thangamani (32). A special team engaged in vehicle check on the Sethiathope-Kumbakonam Road around 7.15 p.m., spotted the three moving in a motorcycle near the Theepainda Natchiar Kovil. A thorough search conducted by the team resulted in the seizure of four iron pipes, 10 gelatin sticks, 15 detonators and two insulation tape rolls concealed in a bag. The police also seized the vehicle used by the accused. The Sethiathope police have registered a case against them under Section 353 IPC and Sections 4 and 5 of the Indian Explosive Substances Act 1908.
