Robber gang from A.P. held

CHENNAI DEC. 29. A three-member masked robber gang, which had been operating at Rajamangalam, has been arrested and police are in the process of recovering the stolen property.

According to the police, the gang members — Buji Babu, Munga Sudhakar and Uyala Sudhakar — gained entry into the house of an engineer, Kesavan, at Jayaram Nagar in Rajamangalam by breaking open the window, on December 9. They robbed the inmates of their valuables at knifepoint.

Fingerprints lifted from the scene of crime revealed that the same gang had robbed gold jewellery and valuables from the house of another engineer, Bhaskar, at Poompuhar Nagar in Rajamangalam on December 30, two years ago.

A special team formed on the directions of the JCP (North), C. Sylendra Babu, and the DCP (Anna Nagar), Seshasai, went to Stuartpuram in Andhra Pradesh and arrested them.
