Abuse of law

Sir, — The detention of the Polaris Software chief, Arun Jain, in Indonesia, without observing the principles of natural justice, shows to what extent the law was abused in that country. A commercial dispute anywhere in the world does not warrant detention unless fraud is proved, that too after the guilt is proved in a trial of the case in a court of law. In this instance, Polaris has every right to proceed against the Indonesian bank for malicious prosecution and claim compensation.

The International Court of Justice should, on its own, take note of the highhandedness of the bank.

K. Pradeep,
Chennai
