Letters to the Editor
Sir, The killing of three innocent girls in Rajouri district in Jammu and Kashmir is tragic. It is a pity that we cannot allow women to breathe in a safe environment and dress the way they want to. Even after militant outfits such as the Lashkar-e-Jabbar issued threats to Muslim women and girls to wear the burqa (veil), the State Government failed to provide adequate security measures.
Debojit Bose,
Sir, The PDP and the Congress should share the blame for the deterioration of law and order in Jammu and Kashmir due to their soft policies towards terrorists. The announcement that POTA would not be used and the release of prisoners have sent a wrong message to the terrorists. The State is an integral part of India and terrorism should be curbed with an iron hand to prevent the killing of innocent people.
Ambady Padmanabhan,
