Soldier killed
A soldier was killed and a house damaged in renewed shelling from across the border in North Kashmir. Defence sources said Pakistani troops resorted to unprovoked shelling and heavy firing over the Rani Post in the Uri sector killing the jawan. ``Retaliatory action was initiated to suppress the enemy fire,'' a spokesman said in Srinagar. In Jammu region, heavy mortar shelling from across the border at Loroka village in Noushera sub-sector damaged one house, while 20 animals were killed.
