Mark on toes

Sir, — The pulse polio immunisation programme conducted on January 5 is commendable. After administering polio drops, the staff put a mark on a left hand finger with indelible ink. Children are in the practice of putting their hands into the mouth. The authorities should put the mark only on the toes of the infants.
